The seen order shows the typical seen path through the design. It is an eye-tracking metric based on the average time it took for people to first see the areas of interest. The number in the middle of each AOI indicates where the AOI falls within the seen order. Multiple areas with same number mean that the areas were seen at effectively the same time and therefore no direct order could be identified.
The lines between the numbers highlight the visual path taken by participants:
- Straight lines - the average gaze path went from one area straight to the next;
- Dotted lines - there was a split in where the gaze went next;
- No lines - the gaze did not move forward after participants viewed this area.
If an area of interest was seen by less than 25% of respondents it is excluded from the seen order.
