When running online surveys, we are asking respondents to look at a piece of media. It is sometimes easy for the respondents to pinpoint exactly what we are testing, leading it to skew the data. In order to avoid this, a common market research tactic is to show them multiple media although you are only interested in the results for one. This led the Sticky team to create something called filler media.
When you tick "Mark this media as a filler" it is letting us know that you are using this to fill in a space, so that the respondents won’t guess what you are testing. This means we will not collect any data for it. If you are on a media credit contract we will not charge you media credits for using filler media.
It's also possible to set a delay between two media using this feature. Create a blank media to place between the media you are testing and mark it as a filler. We will not charge you for this and you will not receive results on it.
